Is Your Dog "A BIG Handful" ???
If your dog is on Steffie's Power Breed List, and/or a Houdini (Runner, or Escape-Artist) then Steffie's House won't be a good fit, Steffie's is a Safe Zone for smaller breeds and lower energy special needs dogs to relax without any Big Guys giving them the 'the stink eye'. This means the larger more energetic and powerful breeds won't fit in here due to their naturally more powerful size. The link below will take you to Steffie's list of Power Breeds and other breeds that will not 'fit' within accepted criteria. If in doubt, please read:
Special Needs Dogs?
This is a regular home, not all that big, so I cant take large high-energy dogs, but if your dog is recovering from something, needs to wear a 'cone', take meds, be kept fairly quiet, Steffie's may be just the place you need. Other special needs include sight/hearing impaired, and certain shy and timid dogs may be fine here, even eventually come out of their shells, but, if they don't they will be allowed their space while still feeling a part of the pack.

Bringing your 6mo+ puppy to Steffie's House
Serving Portland Non-Power Breed (or mix of) dogs and puppys 6 months and older are welcome here for dog grooming, dog boarding, dog day care,,and now cat boarding too, all get just the right dashes of play, snacks, rest, chewing on pup-safe things, and a little training from Steffie and her own dogs, and never be lonely or left to get bored and develop destructive tendencies.

Q: Parking?
A: On-Street for longer than 10 minutes, otherwise a convenient drop-off and pickup spot is available right behind Steffie's Smart car, Some use the other lots, but they're not supposed to, but as it is always a quick drop-off or pick-up, no one has been towed yet.
Q: Wi-Fi Available?
A: No, sorry, no wi-fi here, waiting room has room for 2 people, a few books available to read. Most people go to area coffee shops, or do errands until their pup is ready to pick-up.
Meet N Greets
Make Meet n Greet arrangements, then text when you pull up, we'll get ready to greet you.
Adding any new dog is a bit scary for your dog and the dogs already there, for the first time. After spending a bit together, they will easily recognize each other and it will be a happy reunion. Together we can make First Time go easier by introducing the dogs one or two at a time for a moment, once off-leash. They always get excited to meet and greet, but it settles down pretty quickly. There may be a little posturing and alot of sniffing and maybe a snarl or two, but dogs need to have a moment to talk and say hello. It's always supervised and monitored for unwanted behaviors, so rudeness and aggression are squelched right away with disapproving noises like "Nah!" "Uh Uh" and real words that convey accepted proper behavior. They get it, and are happy to add to the pack, new buddies are awesome!
